The vinyl wall text for all three of our galleries is a critical part of each exhibition. In our new COVID world, exhibition wall text has expanded into the virtual world.

Print and digital catalogs, which now link to virtual exhibitions, branding style guides, and posters, remain key informational design projects for the Department of Art and Art History and our galleries.

art gallery + events.

My position as a Digital Media Specialist for the Department of Art and Art History at Georgetown University allows me to share my current and real-world design projects.

During first few months of COVID, I learned Google SketchUp in a few days so we could communicate our gallery floorplan in 3D to artists for curatorial purposes during lockdown. This is akin to the pace my students need to learn the software for their own design projects and it reflects the deadline driven and sometimes fast-paced design profession.

Other examples include the creation and implementation of visual identity guidelines across multiple platforms and in-process digital and print publications.

ICONIC FAVORITES.

My design career began in the late 1990s and I have been fortunate enough to share my design skills with a wide variety of industries and non-profit organizations. These continue to be some of my favorite design contributions and many of these prints and publications have become cultural icons themselves.

From the “Golden Age of Hip-Hop” to “America's Playground” with Coney Island USA and the Coney Island Film Festival; non-profits such as VSA VT, a Kennedy Center Affiliate, this design work represents the power of art and design in the greater community, the history of popular culture in the United States and…a good portion of my life.

  • Coney Island USA is a 501 not-for-profit arts organization founded in 1980 that is dedicated to the cultural and economic revitalization of the Coney Island neighborhood of Brooklyn in New York City.

  • VSA VT (Now Inclusive Arts VT) is a 501(c)3 not-for-profit arts and education organization. Our mission is to use the magic of the arts to engage the capabilities and enhance the confidence of children and adults with disabilities.
